I’m not someone who finds it particularly easy to ask people for money, but right now, I could really use your help.
In late August, the campaign had to cancel a beer-and-burger fundraiser social after someone threatened the venue for hosting a political event. The venue understandably became concerned and cancelled. I understand the venue’s response, but to say that I was disappointed would be a bit of an understatement.
More importantly though, it left our local campaign with a gap in our budget at a time when we need to focus on getting our message out to Sechelt.
So I’m asking, if you believe in what we’re trying to do for Sechelt together, would you consider making a donation of $25, $50, $100. Any amount helps, and given my own upbringing I would never want anyone to contribute beyond their means.
Your contribution helps us pay for the basics: lawn signs, brochures, advertising and the other things we need to reach as many voters as possible.
I’ve lived and worked in Sechelt most of my life. I’ve served on Council for eight years, and I’m running for mayor because I believe Sechelt can move forward more effectively when we work together, and that leadership starts at the top.
This campaign is about finding common ground and building a stronger future for the community we all call home.
And if donating money isn’t possible, that’s okay. Putting up a sign, volunteering for a few hours, sharing our campaign messages with a neighbour or simply forward this web page to a friend.
